Merovingians. Pseudo-imperial coinage, circa 500-580 AD. AV Solidus in the name of Anastasius I. Obv. DN ΛNΛSTΛSIVS PERP ΛVG. Diademed, helmeted, and cuirassed bust facing slightly right, holding spear and shield with horseman motif. Rev. VICTORIA AVGGG A (reversed). Victory standing left, holding long jewelled cross; in right field, star; in exergue, CONOB. Cf. MEC 1, 343. AV. g. 4.44 mm. 21.20 RR. About EF. Very rare and superb.
