Sabina. Augusta, A.D. 128-136/7. AR denarius (16 mm, 3.21 g, 6 h). Rome mint, Struck under Hadrian, A.D. 134-136. Very rare bust variety. [SABINA] AVGVSTA, diademed and draped bust right, hair bound in coil atop head / IVN[ONI] REGINAE, Juno standing left, holding patera and scepter. RIC 395b; BMC 943; RSC 43a. aVF, toned.

Of the many dozens of examples found on-line of this reverse for Sabina, most have a simple, plain diadem or band around the hair, with either bust facing right or left. A few have the addition of grain ears held under the diadem, but none, however, had this specific hair style with the hair bound atop Sabina's head. Although this bust type in itself is not rare by any means, neither is it common, but in conjunction with this particular reverse type it is seemingly quite rare.
