Good Very Fine to near Extremely Fine; crisp and attractive example on a broad flan; small area of porosity on reverse; bold portrait.Though a rebel general and usurper, Carausius was a capable commander and administrator, and was well liked by his soldiers and citizens. He might have held out longer against Roman efforts to subdue the island had he not been assassinated by his finance minister Allectus.
