CELTIC BRITAIN. Southern: Regini and Atrebates. Epaticcus. Circa A.D. 20-40. AR unit. 1.24 gm. 11.5 mm. Epaticcus Eagle. Bust right, wearing lion skin; EPATI in front / An eagle standing facing, wings spread, head left; pellet-in-circle above right. S. 356. ABC 1346. Good Very Fine; nicely toned (find patina?); mild porosity, typical of many Wanborough pieces; old scrape on obverse face; particularly well centered reverse, deeply struck, with high relief eagle.
