Gordian I, 238. Sestertius (Bronze, 32mm, 22.54 g 1), Rome. IMP CAES M ANT GORDIANVS AFR AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian I to right. Rev. P M TR P COS P P / S - C Gordian I, laureate and togate, standing left, holding olive branch in his right hand and parazonium in his left. BMC 4. Cohen 3. RIC 7. Rare. A most attractive example with clear surfaces and a brownish green patina. Some smoothing, minor deposits and an insignificant double strike on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
