Toned and struck on a broad flan, a most unusual coin with a very low weight; as such, very rare. About extremely fine.
Ex Nomos 9, 21 October 2014, 99 and from a Swiss collection.
This is a most peculiar coin! It is of perfectly good style and appears to be of good silver, but it is unusually thin and is of remarkably low weight. It seems likely that this is an example of a mistake in mint control: a seriously underweight flan managed to pass inspection and was struck in a normal way. This is a most interesting, and attractive, curiosity!
