THESSALY, Larissa. Early to mid 4th century BC. Drachm (Silver, 19mm, 6.00 g 6). Thessalos to right, naked but for chlamys and petasos flying in the air above him, holding a band with both hands around the forehead of a bull he has wrestled nearly down to the ground; all within a circle of dots. Rev. ΛΑΡΙΣΙΑ Bridled horse with trailing rein to right, all in shallow incuse square. BCD Thessaly 177 (same dies). A very attractive example with a beautiful iridescent toning. Slightly rough surfaces, otherwise, very fine.
