SYRIA, Cyrrhestica. Cyrrhus. Caracalla. AD 198-217. AR Tetradrachm (25mm, 13.91 g, 12h). Struck AD 215-217. Radiate and cuirassed bust left, raising right hand, with spear and shield over left shoulder / Small eagle standing facing on filleted thyrsus, head right, with wings spread, supporting laureate head of Caracalla right. Prieur – (but see 915 for same obv. die, standard eagle rev.); CNG 96, lot 651. Near VF, toned, some porosity. Very rare type.
