James Smillie Albumen Photographs ca.1880's. Lot of 2 photographs mounted on thin cardboard, back to back. ND (ca. 1880's), 13 x 10.5 inches, one image showing Smillie reading while sitting with his wife who is knitting, the second image is a portrait of Smillie sitting at his desk studying a drawing. The photographs are in VF to XF condition but the mounting card has toning and foxing at edges and is separating on the edge. Rare photographs of this legendary artist and Landscape engraver and father of James D. Smillie and uncle of GFC Smillie.
