An Egyptian Blue Faience Figure of Duametef. An Egyptian blue faience figure of Duametef, Late Period, c. 664 - 343 BC, one of the ï¾Sons of Horusï¾, a jackal-headed deity who guarded the liver. Nice blue-green color and two holes for attachment to the bandages of the mummy. L: 3ï¾ (7.6 cm). These Sons of Horus figures came to replace the canopic jars in the tomb equipment in the later Egyptian Dynastic period, some burials having both jars and these figures, which were placed within the bandages of the mummy.
