*Mauretania, Juba II (25 BC-AD 23) and Cleopatra Selene, denarius, diademed head of Juba right, rev., diademed head of Cleopatra right, 3.51g (Mazard 367), minor obverse scuffs, faint flan crack, very fine and rare Cleopatra Selene was the daughter of Mark Antony and Cleopatra VII whose marriage to Juba II was arranged by Augustus. Their son was Ptolemy who inherited the throne in AD 23 and his murder by Caligula in 40 brought an end to the Ptolemaic dynasty.
