Aethelred II (978-1016), Penny, 1.39g, Helmet type, London, Leofric, helmeted, radiate and armoured bust left, rev. +leofric m[]o lvnd, voided long cross over quadrilateral with a trefoil of pellets to cusps (SCBI 9 Ashmolean, No 595; N.775; S.1152), a Scandinavian find thus pecked, the reverse somewhat untidy but the obverse better, toned, nearly very fine.
