Charles I (1625-1649), Civil War coinage, Exeter, 1643-46, Crown, 29.36g, m.m. rose, king crowned, riding left, sash in large bow, rev. round garnished shield (Brooker 1012; N.2532; S.3055), weakness on equestrian portrait and in areas of legends, peripheral striking flaw at 9 o'clock on reverse, this flan full and well rounded for this coinage, toned and with a good deal of lustre, especially on reverse, nearly very fine for this.
