Danish Colony - Christian IX 40 Cents 1905 MS65 NGC, KM80. Also valued at 2 Francs. Exceptional quality for this highly coveted type, with fully white centers and reddish-gold tinged rims. Tied with two other examples for the finest graded by NGC. One of these examples, considerably less appealing to the eyes than the present piece, was sold by Stack's in January of 2012 for $4,500 hammer.
