Trajan. AD 98-117. Æ As (28mm, 10.77 g, 7h). Rome mint. Struck circa AD 107-108. Laureate bust right, slight drapery / Octastyle temple with portico on either side; within temple, figure of Jupiter seated facing; sculptural figures adorning architrave and roof. RIC II 577 var. (draped); Woytek 307b. Fine, green and brown patina with patches of red, numerous cleaning scratches. Rare.

Philip Hill has argued that the structure represented on this coin is the Temple of Jupiter Victor on the Palatine Hill, which he posits is the same temple that was later rededicated to Sol El-Gabal under Elagabalus.
