COSTA RICA. 10 Pesos, 1870-GW. NGC AU-55.
Fr-11; KM-115. Three year only issue, and far less commonly encountered than the Colones denominated gold coins from later in the 19th century. The specimen offered is an original coin with a nice strike. Bold legends, denomination, and central devices. Semi proof-like fields and warm amber toning along with flawless rims. A die crack extends from the rim to the wreath at 4 o'clock on the reverse. Nice for the grade and fully problem-free unlike so many others seen of this issue. NGC AU-55.
