FRANCE. 100 Franc, 1859-BB. PCGS AU-58.
Fr-570; KM-786.2; Gad-1135. Mintage of only 9,305 pieces. From the Strasbourg mint, a city Napoleon III lost to the Germans in his disastrous adventure otherwise known as the Franco-Prussian War. Quite nice for the grade, most would call it a full UNC if it were raw. A couple light scratches in front of the portrait being the only detracting features worthy of mention. A neat coin with a provocative historical story. PCGS AU-58.
Estimate: $1500.00- $2000.00
