GERMANY, Baden. 3 Mark Pattern, 1915-G. PCGS SP-64 Secure Holder.
Schaaf-39 M1. Plain Edge. Specimen coinage struck in aluminum at a time when World War I was in full swing. Neither the coinage nor the Grand Duchy of Baden would survive, as it was never adopted for production and the duchy itself became a republic after the war. An interesting piece with excellent luster and in a fabulous state of preservation. Given the unstable properties of aluminum over any considerable period of time, it's amazing there isn't a trace of corrosion on the piece. PCGS SP-64 Secure Holder.
