ITALY. Mantua (Mantova). 1/2 Testone, ND. Francesco II (1484-1519). NGC VF Details--Scratches.
Biaggi-1159. Italian renascence issue from a time when Mantua was a cultural center in Italy along side Genoa and Venice. Exceptionally well preserved, the facial details are all present, along with well defined hair and reverse chalice. Scratches noted in the obverse and reverse fields that do not affect the portrait. A rare and seldom offered coin, the few examples typically seen are of the smaller Quattrino denomination. NGCVF Details--Scratches.
