SWITZERLAND. Helvetian Republic. 4 Franken, 1801-B. NGC MS-65.
Dav-1772; KM-A10; HMZ-2-1185; Divo-5. Three at this grade, with none certified finer at NGC and PCGS. A recent example hammered at Heritage for $5,000 plus the BP. Ours has a better strike with no underlying adjustment marks showing through. It's hard to imagine a nicer example of this Helvetian issue. The coin at hand has fully struck devices with no weakness in the guards uniform. Pleasing overcast color tone covers the fields but does not interfere with the semi proof-like qualities. An all-around sensational example of this highly desirable early Swiss national issue, with a prestigious pedigree added in for good measure. NGC MS-65.
