AUSTRIA. 1/2 Taler, 1620. Vienna Mint. Ferdinand II (1619-37). NGC EF Details--Obverse Tooled.
KM-261. First year for the five year issue. Ferdinand II was a staunch counter-reformation supporter, and helped set-off the thirty year war, including the launch of the Battle of White Mountain west of Prague in 1620, the year this piece was struck. A nice example of the coin given its age and availability, the tooling in the obverse fields was an effort to conceal a planchet crack in same, and does not detract much from the overall appearance of the coin. NGC EF Details--Obverse Tooled.
Estimate: $150.00- $250.00
