George V Specimen "Small Leaves" 10 Cents 1913 SP63 PCGS, Ottawa mint, KM17. Extremely rare as a specimen, and likely produced as a result of the transition in 1913 from the earlier "Broad Leaves" reverse to this more delicate type, with the present coin being the only example certified by either PCGS or NGC. The surfaces, toned over both sides in pastel orange and plum shades, showcase a fine satin surface texture as is typical of Canadian presentation pieces of this era and light, barely noticeable handling defines the grade. In specimen format, carrying an impressive value in SP63 of $5,000 in the Charlton catalog and justifiably so - this is the first we have ever seen! From The Eric Beckman Collection of Canadian Coins
