Edward VII Specimen 25 Cents 1902-H SP68 PCGS, Heaton mint, KM11. An amazing quality-clone to the phenomenal Prager Collection coin that we sold in April of 2014, only this example is draped in scintillating patina whereas that coin was entirely white! On this Superb Gem, mixed greens, golds and blues traverse the obverse in a somewhat random pattern, while on the reverse, blue and green tone creates a crescent-shaped ring around sunset-orange centers. Beneath the tone, the satin-textured surfaces remain as-struck, with no signs of handling of any kind and effervescent luster that easily escapes the tone and captivates the eye. Only four entries of the date are present in PCGS census, and given the impressive realization of $70,500 on the Prager specimen, a date that's clearly been acknowledged as a important rarity by advanced collectors of Canada. From The Eric Beckman Collection of Canadian Coins
