George V Specimen 25 Cent 1927 SP67 PCGS, Ottawa mint, KM24a. Clearly a special presentation issue, with surfaces that are of a fine satin texture, producing luster somewhere between that of well-made business strike and a thicker-granulated matte issue. Delicate golden toning is seen throughout, and the detail is complete through George's crown and ornamental clothing, as well as in the Maple leaves that take prominence in the reverse motif. Upon closer inspection, no marks are of mentionable significance, and the overall presentation resoundingly confirms the lofty Superb Gem grade. A landmark offering of this very rare specimen date, missing from both the Pittman and Norweb holdings, as well as the Bank of Canada Collection and all the legendary "named collections" of Canadian coins that we have offered in our history; also, the only example graded by PCGS.From The Eric Beckman Collection of Canadian Coins
