Edward VII gold Sovereign 1910-C MS66 PCGS, Ottawa mint, KM14, S-3970. A rare date, and more importantly, very likely unmatched in quality, with the PCGS population reports showing this coin as the finest graded by two points, and a search for other Gem examples that may have escaped grading, yielding no results. As one would expect from a coin of this caliber, the surfaces are very clean, escaping many of the perils of distant transport that these Canadian sovereigns often saw, with hardly any marks or grazes in the satiny fields and only light ticks that mostly blend with Edward's beard. The tone, mostly present in the obverse centers, also has a luxurious feel. Thusly, an undeniably important offering for the gold specialist who seeks to own the very finest. From The Eric Beckman Collection of Canadian Coins
