An amazing lot with nine Orders & Medals, and assorted original documentation, from the J.H. Campbell Collection, Orders and Medals:(1) A silver 50mm medal from the Sydney Show, and case from Noumea (New Caledonia) awarded by the NOUVELLE CALEDONIE ET DEPENDANCES to M.M.N. Joubert et Brigham 1876, Mr. Joubert was a relative of Mr. Campbell through his marriage to Rose Joubert.(2) The silver Sydney Mint Medal, named on the edge to Mr. Campbell and presented to him in 1926 on the occasion of his leaving for his appointment as Deputy Master of the Ottawa Branch of the Royal Mint, housed in the original Sydney Mint case, one of the very last medals issued by the Sydney Branch of the Royal Mint before its closure in 1927.(3) Canada Confederation Commemorative bronze medal, 1867-1927, 71mm, in original case of issue(4) Order of the British Empire Fifth Class Member Badge, awarded to J.H. Campbell with appropriate documentation from the Central Chancery of the Orders of Knighthood, St. James Palace, and documents from the court of George V, issued in 1920, in the original case with the original paper envelope holder marked O.B.E. Also included is documentation elevating Campbell to an officer of the order in 1935.(5) Imperial Service Order with documents from the court of George V in 1929 bestowing the order to J.H. Campbell, housed in the original case, awarded for meritorious service by active members of the Civil Service.(6) & (7) Silver Jubilee Medal for Mr. Campbell, and his wife, awarded by King George V, with the medals and documentation for both forwarded by the Department of the Secretary of State of Canada, Each is housed in the original case with documentation from Buckingham Palace.(8) & (9) Silver Coronation Medal of George VI, awarded to Mr. Campbell, and his wife, with the original documentation from Buckingham Palace. Each is housed in the original case of issue. Original Government Documentation & Assorted Newspaper Items, Etc.(1) a 1938 letter, with seal, from the Canada Secretary of State asking courtesy from France and other European countries to a visiting Mr. and Mrs. Campbell. (2) a 1937 Royal Canadian Mint Report signed, "With the Compliments of J.H. Campbell."(3) the proclamation from 1921 appointing Campbell to be the Deputy Master of the Sydney Mint, signed by the Lords Commissioners of His Majesty's Treasury. (4) a proclamation dated 1925 appointing Campbell Deputy Director of the Ottawa Mint. (5) a proclamation appointing Campbell as Registrar and Accountant at the Branch of the Royal Mint in Sydney in 1898. (6) a letter, on Royal Mint stationary, in 1884 informing Campbell that he had been approved on probation as junior clerk.(7) two 8x10 photographs of Campbell, one matte, and one glossy, the glossy signed, "J.H. Campbell Ottawa 1930." (8) a letter from the Commonwealth of Australia, Department of Defence, dated October 16 1916, appointing Campbell Assistant Deputy Comptroller of Prisoner of War Canteens.(9) a letter from the Chairman of the Canteens Funds Trust in January 1926, thanking Campbell for his service on the Soldiers' Children Education Board. (10) The original script for a radio broadcast written by Campbell in 1932 and broadcast on CNRO Ottawa on 27 December 1932, 7:30-7;45.(11) a brochure entitled, "The Statutes of The Imperial Service Order."(12) The Royal Canadian Mint Report 1936.
