Anhalt-Dessau. Friedrich I gold Proof 20 Mark 1901-A PR65 Cameo NGC, Berlin mint, KM26, Jaeger-181. Mintage: 200. An important proof of this classic low-mintage type, the surfaces wonderfully preserved over both sides, with excellent mirrored fields that create a lovely backdrop for the pinpoint-sharp design. No marks are noteworthy, however a single milky toning spot just to the right of Friedrich's mouth is evident, with light orange-gold patina blending in elsewhere. The first proof of this type we have offered and not surprisingly, a coin that is rarely available outside of Germany; this coin, a true beauty, is certainly among the finest known. From The Kaiser Collection of German Gold Coins
