Baden. Friedrich I gold Proof 10 Mark 1903-G PR66 Ultra Cameo NGC, Karlsruhe mint, KM275, Jaeger-190. A remarkable example of this most-elusive type, expertly engraved on both sides with the immensely charming, chiseled portrait of Friedrich I on the obverse attracting much of the eye's attention. Around the richly frosted central devices, the fields exhibit watery reflectivity with nary a distraction worthy of mention. Toning is delicate and sporadic, but fully compliments. A search of archived sales yields no examples of this date, with only several offerings of the type; the combination of findings helping to solidify its rarity status.
