Bavaria. Otto gold Proof 10 Mark 1909-D PR64 Ultra Cameo NGC, Munich mint, KM994, Jaeger-201. A most-impressive proof representative of this popular gold type with dramatic visual contrast on both sides between the boldly frosted yellow-gold central motifs and the blackened backdrop that is created by seemingly endless reflectivity in the fields. Magnified inspection confirms surfaces that easily rival premium Gem proofs (PR66), with a minuscule hairline imperfection on Otto's cheek that surely prevented such a designation.
