Lubeck. Free City gold Proof 10 Mark 1905-A PR67 Deep Cameo PCGS, Berlin mint, KM214, Jaeger-228. Mintage: 247. The first year for this "5-sided Shield" type, expertly produced in all facets, with rarely equaled reflectivity in the fields and evenly frosted, cameo-producing texture over the raised design. Magnified inspection confirms minimal handling, with a couple touches of unique character as well; several coppery blushes that blend with the fields on both sides and a lintmark, below the right star on the reverse, should be helpful pedigree identifiers for this piece in the future. As a result of its low mintage, highly coveted in all grades, and especially so when found as beautifully preserved as the present coin. From The Kaiser Collection of German Gold Coins
