Mecklenburg-Schwerin. Friedrich Franz III gold 10 Mark 1890-A MS65 NGC, Berlin mint, KM325, Jaeger-232. One-year type. Fully satiny, the surfaces possess superb flash, with luster effortlessly cartwheeling around the central design when the coin is moved beneath a light. Befitting the grade, few marks exist, with the reverse remaining essentially pristine and the obverse holding only a few flyspeck marks of trivial visual significance. A minuscule deposit of debris, not harmful to the surfaces (and likely removable), should be mentioned near Friedrich Franz's nose. All told, a popular low-mintage type, and quite possibly the finest representative of this single-year issue known to collectors, with no comparable certified examples and only one or two uncertified examples in archived auction records that even approach the quality of this Gem.From The Kaiser Collection of German Gold Coins
