Prussia. Friedrich III gold Proof 10 Mark 1888-A PR64 Cameo PCGS, Berlin mint, KM514, Jaeger-247. One-year type. A near-Gem example of this desirable issue, the surfaces brightened by tone on both sides, with ample frost on the central motifs and microscopic orange-peel textured fields that maintain fully glinting properties. If not for a well-blended mark in the field to the right of Friedrich's nose, a coin that almost certainly would have made it to the Gem (PR65 and higher) tier. From The Kaiser Collection of German Gold Coins
