Prussia. Friedrich III gold 20 Mark 1888-A MS66 PCGS, Berlin mint, KM515, Jaeger-248. One-year type. An outstanding beauty from this single-year issue, visually elite in all facets, with razor-sharp detailing throughout Friedrich's beard as well as the corresponding German eagle and nary a mark of significance on either side. Light orange-gold tone, blended seamlessly into the satin fields, confirms absolute originality. While considered a common type, it is fair to call the present piece truly rare in this outstanding premium Gem grade; currently tied for the finest certified at PCGS with a single example receiving the MS67 grade at NGC.From The Kaiser Collection of German Gold Coins
