Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt. Günther Victor gold Proof 10 Mark 1898-A PR64 Cameo NGC, Berlin mint, KM187, Jaeger-286. Mintage: 700. One-year type. As a result of its limited coinage production, all issues of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt are considered highly collectible, but the 10 mark, the highest denomination produced, is especially desirable for German type collectors and geography-specific specialists. The present piece, an undeniably pleasing representative, is brightly toned throughout in orange-gold shades, with light cameo-producing frost on the central design, and dazzling fields. A tiny lintmark behind Günther's head, as well as a couple minor toning freckles, will serve admirably to establish pedigree in the future, but no post-strike handling issues are noteworthy. All told, very high-end for the grade, and certain to please the collector seeking to fill the hole of this illusive type. From The Kaiser Collection of German Gold Coins

Estimate: 6000-8000 USD
