Philip V gold Escudo 1743 Mo-MF AU53 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM113, Cal-528. Choice for the designation with highly lustrous fields, only a touch of wear on the higher points and few noticeable surface contact marks. The Norweb coin (Christie's Dallas 5/1985, lot 31), struck from the same obverse die, was catalogued as 1743/2. This could well be the case since the last two digits of the date are clearly repunched. Not rare as a date, yet very scarce so nicely preserved. From The Rudman Collection of Mexican Coins
