Philip V gold 2 Escudos 1736/5 Mo-MF MS61 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM124, Cal-360. The overdate is not noted in the insert, but is certain. Brilliant Uncirculated with essentially full mint bloom and a few haphazard handling marks preventing a higher designation. When recently cataloguing an XF45 specimen of the 1746 date (see Heritage 1/2015, lot 30306) we noted that "true Mint State examples of this type are basically unheard of", which is indeed the case. An extreme condition rarity in the series, one of only two examples of the entire type currently certified as MS by NGC (see our offering of the superb MS62 1733/2 date in this collection for the other one!), and a perfect candidate to represent it in a refined quality-oriented cabinet. Needless to say, we expect very strong bidding competition for this exceptional coin. From The Rudman Collection of Mexican Coins
