Philip V gold 4 Escudos 1734/3 Mo-MF MS61 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM135, Cal-239. Mint State with considerable luster and the expected surface contact marks for the assigned grade. A rare early date of this elusive type, seldom seen in any preservation and particularly desirable in this fine quality. Currently the highest of only two certified examples by NGC and a strong candidate for finest known of this date/overdate variety. The cataloguer notes a lesser specimen hammering for $6,750 at the Eliasberg sale (ANR 4/2005, lot 3089).From The Rudman Collection of Mexican Coins
