Ferdinand VI gold 4 Escudos 1755-Mo-MM XF45 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM138, Cal-112. A wholesome and attractive coin for the designation, with moderate even wear throughout, engaging orange toning and handling marks well within the confines of the assigned grade. Mild adjustment marks on the reverse shield are mentioned for accuracy and do not detract from the coin's eye-appeal. A quite desirable example of this date, slightly more available overall than the 1754 date (as could be expected from its higher mintage figure of 1241 specimens), yet still rare in its own right: it was missing entirely in Gerber, Norweb and Eliasberg, though two sales of clearly lesser specimens have occurred in the past few years. Currently the only certified example of this date by either major third party grading company, and in fact - perhaps more relevantly - tied as second finest of the entire 1752-1756 type. From The Rudman Collection of Mexican Coins

Estimate: 4000-6000 USD
