Charles III gold 8 Escudos 1770 Mo-MF MS62 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM155, Onza-757. Brilliant Uncirculated with essentially full mint luster, rather sharp details and only scattered marks on the obverse fields preventing a still higher designation. The eye-appeal and obvious original surfaces create a truly striking impression and are a joy to behold. A rare date in any grade, correctly rated as "rarisima" in the Onza reference work; missing altogether in Gerber and Eliasberg and represented by a previously mounted coin in Norweb. Extremely rare in this superb preservation, and among the very finest of the Mexican rat-nose Onzas observed by the cataloguer. Currently the single second finest specimen of the entire type certified by NGC and a perfect example to illustrate the issue in a quality-seeking cabinet. A undisputed highlight of the entire Rudman collection and as such, destined to elicit fierce bidding competition. From The Rudman Collection of Mexican Coins
