Charles IV gold Escudo 1803 Mo-FT MS63 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM120, Cal-515. Choice Uncirculated with attractive and lustrous surfaces. The usually seen slight roughness and some very slight stacking friction are apparent on the king's best, yet do not detract from the great eye-appeal. A most attractive representative of the type, and a surprisingly challenging date in higher grades -missing altogether from Norweb and Eliasberg and only represented by a previously mounted coin in Gerber. The present coin is likely the finest extant. From The Rudman Collection of Mexican Coins
