Charles IV gold 4 Escudos 1790 Mo-FM VF35 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM143.2, Cal-210. Attractive for the designation with all details still sharp and even wear throughout. A very scarce one-year transitional type, featuring Charles III's bust and the "IIII" numerals. Missing in the advanced Caballero de las Yndias group, and almost never seen any finer. Only two coins of this type are currently listed in the NGC census, the other certified as XF45 (doubtlessly the ex-Eliasberg specimen). From The Rudman Collection of Mexican Coins
