Ferdinand VII gold 4 Escudos 1810 Mo-HJ AU55 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM145, Cal-154. Significantly lustrous and well-detailed, with limited high-point friction defining the grade. Parts of the outer legends are softly struck and show small planchet defects as often seen on other higher preserved examples of this date (see for example lot 7138 in the Ponterio 3/2010 sale and lot 950 in the Aureo 10/2013 sale), this clearly the result of failing mint equipment. A very scarce three-year type, conditionally rare and quite desirable in this preservation. Currently the single finest specimen certified by NGC.From The Rudman Collection of Mexican Coins
