Guadalajara. Ferdinand VII gold 8 Escudos 1813 Ga-MR AU53 NGC, Guadalajara mint, KM162, Onza-1202. Choice for the designation with very limited high-point wear, gorgeous old orangish toning over highly lustrous surfaces and a superbly firm strike for the issue with sharply rendered details on the shield. The faintest trace of planchet adjustment marks can be discerned under close scrutiny on the reverse yet absolutely do not detract from the great eye-appeal and are solely mentioned for accuracy. A striking representative of this very rare type, undoubtedly among the very finest known, and currently the second highest certified example by NGC, behind an AU53 coin. Immensely desirable in this superb quality, and an essentially unimprovable type coin with a legendary pedigree. Ex. Norweb Collection (Christie's Dallas 5/1985, lot 150)From The Rudman Collection of Mexican Coins

Estimate: 30000-40000 USD
