Iturbide gold 8 Escudos 1823 Mo-JM AU58 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM314, Onza-1779. The final Mexico Imperial 8 Escudos issue, struck for a short period in 1823 before Iturbide's demise in March of that year. Borderline Mint State with substantial mint bloom and remarkably unmolested surfaces for the designation, albeit a tad softly struck in the centers as usually seen on this very scarce issue. A very eye-appealing coin with handsome reddish toning, very rare and wildly popular in this alluring preservation. Ex-Hammel collection (Stack's 9/1982, lot 859).From The Rudman Collection of Mexican Coins
