Paleo-Hebrew Shekel of Israel A ([year] 1) around and above ritual chalice with smooth, wide rim, pellet on either side, the base has pearled ends, circle of dots / Jerusalem [the] holy, stem with three pomegranates, pearl at base, circle of dots. Hendin 1354. TJC 187. MCP dies O3 / R 16 (two specimens cited). Rare die combination, with only two other examples known from this pairing. Struck on an exceptionally broad flan. NGC AU 4/5 - 4/5.
