L VERVS AVG ARM PARTH MAX, laureate bust of Verus right, wearing scale cuirass, viewed from behind / TR P VIII IMP COS III, Aequitas seated left, holding balance scale in right hand and cornucopia cradled in left arm. RIC --, cf. 594 (draped and cuirassed). BMCRE --. Cohen --. Calicó 2206 (S5) (Same dies). A very scarce variety, unlisted in most references. Sharp portrait in high relief. Minor edge filing, otherwise a lovely aureus, sharply struck in high relief, with significant luster. NGC Choice AU 5/5 - 3/5, Fine Style, edge filing.
