Anne gold 2 Guineas 1711 MS62 NGC, Royal mint, KM531, S-3569. Beautiful dark red toning that highlights the devices with underlying luster. A few scattered hairlines commensurate with the grade, but they are mostly obscured by the deep tone; overall a really beautiful example. Anne 2 Guineas in Mint State condition are very rare; from our research, we have been able to find only four other Mint State examples of any date that have sold publicly in the last decade. The last sales record was in our Platinum Night auction in August, 2014 where we sold a PCGS MS62 for a very strong $23,000 hammer, setting a world record for the type. The coin on offer here has arguably much better eye appeal, and considering the market for this type of material has only gotten stronger in the last year, we would not be surprised to see that mark surpassed today.
Estimate: 20000-25000 USD
