George III Proof Bank of England Dollar - 5 Shillings 1804 PR65 NGC, KM-Tn1, S-3768, ESC-148a. Variety: Obv. Top leaf to center of E, no stops in CHK on truncation. Rev. K in relief under shield. While there are quite a few varieties of the 1804 Bank of England dollar, it is hard to rank them in terms of rarity and desirability, so perhaps it is best to look at the entire series as a whole. While the proof strikings of this type often come in very good condition, this coin has especially good eye appeal. It has fully natural surfaces with cabinet toning and significant underlying luster. For the collector who prizes originality, this is a coin worthy of a premium bid.
