Great Britain
Victoria Proof Gothic Crown 1847 PR63 PCGS, Royal mint, KM744, S-3883. "UNDECIMO" edge. Presenting the ever-popular British Crown featuring the Gothic-styled portrait of Victoria and an intricately-detailed reverse motif. At first glance, this specimen appears evenly-toned in a desirable, steel-gray color, but upon rotation, the surfaces ignite with glossy, oil-slick iridescence, primarily in shades of electric blue and champagne. Incredible, pinpoint definition is unmistakable, even to the unaided eye. And, if not for two small ticks near the mouth of the Queen and to the right of her portrait, this selection would surely grade finer. Even so, a glorious Proof with visual allure and technical quality, a somewhat scarce combination in this highly-collected issue.
