Christian Hermann Roth gold 10 Ducats ND (ca. 1690) MS62 NGC Kremnitz mint, Fr-565, Huszár-42 (silver). A lovely example of this late 17th century series struck at Kremnitz by the Roth family. Produced as something of a "good luck talisman" as well as a status symbol, these pieces are perhaps better described as medals of 10 ducat weight. The obverse always depicts the St. George slaying the dragon motif, while the reverse shows Christ in a boat with a varying number of apostles. Some light handling is evident, but this coin is free of any remarkable abrasions and maintains some of its original luster. An overall impressive piece, and fairly affordable as far as 10 ducats go.
